Mission: Flight Of The Valkyries
Location: Various
Timeline: March 18th, 2397

[Starfighters]

Of the two fighters that had gone into a near-suicidal warp flicker to close in with the station, one now came back out towards the oncoming firing Federation starships and fighters, followed by a brief pyramid of fire from the station that seemed to focus on her briefly.

"Sabre to Snowflake, Ah'm okay, got some structural damage, but good t-to fly. Still got phasers, but Ah'm leakin' a little atmo." Grace understated the situation, the cockpit was fully depressurized, but her suit forcefield was holding. She'd be fine for about a half hour, especially now that she cranked up the heat in the confined space. Her self-contained air would last at least an hour. "Pickle didn't make it out."

"Understood. Put on your emergency helmet and switch to backup life support supply." Fubuki replied as her shields took a slight hit. She banked her fighter hard to port before running full speed towards the firing weapons battery.

She narrowed her eyes as she focused on her target, then with a press of her thumb unleashed a full barrage of phaser fire upon the weapons battery. The bright orange pulses of phaser fire blasted into it, causing it to start sparking. After a few seconds it was engulfed in a small explosion leaving nothing but a hole in the starbases hull.

“Already on it.” Grace looped around to face the Starbase once again, gunning her engines once she was oriented properly once more, triggering off another burst. Now safely ensconced by the others, she was safer, theoretically. Besides, she had at least fifteen minutes before she would be forced by necessity to start seeking a deck to land on. Not seeing her own squadron’s markings around, she attached herself to the rear of Snowflake’s, giggling manically as she did.

[USS Armitage]

Minori frowned, the idea of a runabout docking this close to an enemy base and inside a dangerous asteroid field was pure stupidity. After receiving the message she looked at her sensor readings she had routed to her chair. "Tokyo, this is Armitage. We're ten seconds behind you, advise that the runabout stays clear of combat area."

[USS Tokyo Bridge]

"Acknowledged Captain... I don't know whose bright idea was to send a runabout mid mission, but I will be putting a word into starfleet." Thomas replied as he pondered their predicament.

"Tokyo to Lt Dillenger, change of plans, pull back outside of the combat zone. Its too volatile too bring you aboard." Thomas replied opening comms to the runabout.

[USS Ark Royal]

Captain Shipman listened in onto the conversation. The Ark Royal was the very most rear ship and closest to the runabout. "What do you think Sally?" Her attention turning to her first officer.

The brown haired woman pondered for a moment. The viewscreen switched to the tactical map of the system. "We're about six minutes from the target well out of their weapons range and the rear most ship... You thinking what I'm thinking Maple?"

Maple nodded. She tapped a few buttons on the arm of her chair. Commander Johnson and Captain Kusieda popped up on their viewscreen. "The Ark Royal can pick up the runabout. We have just enough time to lower our shields and get them aboard before we engage the target. But, we'll be doing this on the move, so unless they want to wait outside, they'll have to do it now."

"If you feel you can do it safely, and I mean only if you can do it safely. Then do it. Otherwise, they wait until its over." Thomas replied, "We ain't losing a ship just because starfleet decided its best to resupply us in the midst of an attack run, against an enemy we have yet to make a significant win against."

[Main Engineering]

"Cassal," Zach said, coming back into Main Engineering and pointing at the crewman at the repair relay station, "I need and update on all damage control teams and repairs on the weapons systems." He turned to the Master Situation Monitor and tapped the controls quickly. "Computer, give me a four-quadrant view. Ship-wide power distribution, warp core power output, shield grid systems and fighter flight paths."

"I've got you covered on some of that, sir." Alexis turned from the panel she was at, transferring the data over to the main console, "We've got some fluctuations still in the bow, but our shields are holding for the time being thanks to your fix, but weaker in the bow section still. But why do you want the flight patterns?"

"I want to know if they're going to send anything else flying at us," Zach said, not meeting her eyes as the screen split into four sections. "Watch the warp core. I'm going to see if I can put some whiskey in the mix and get us more power."

"Leans out the mixture." Alexis nodded with a smile at the reference, "That should give us the brute power to get everything back up and going."

Zach left her at the MSM and moved quickly to the MARC, accessing the matter/anti-matter mix and adjusting the flow. "Let me know when we reach a ten percent power increase," he said, watching the anti-matter flow like a hawk.

Alexis's eyes didn't leave the display, though they flicked to the side occasionally, "Three percent." She announced as the graph jumped suddenly, "Five percent, six..." A yellow light began to shine from the monitor that showed the readouts from the matter/anti-matter reaction chamber, but he'd know about that as well, "Eight percent, nine percent..." The green went to an amber and her eyes left the screen fully for a moment before returning, "Ten percent, sir. We're getting a warning on the containment field for the reaction, it's stable right now."

"We've got a blow out of a plasma conduit on deck five. Section three gamma, crew quarters. I'm re-routing. Do you want me to send a damage control team?" Syaro asked.

“I’ve got it, ma’am.” Alexis gave Zach another look, “Sir.” Then pointed at one of the other engineers and towards the door, “You, you’re with me, let’s move it!”

"Keep me updated, Miss Aenera," Zach said, watching the screens, working on strengthening the containment field, while also watching the outside manoeuvrers, noting the one marked "Sabre."

The Tokyo burst out of the Asteroid field that surrounded the starbase. It was promptly followed by the other Starships. The Starfighters scrambled as the larger ships opened fire, bright orange phaser beams now joining the flurry of starfighter cannon fire. Quantum torpedoes twinkled brightly as the starships pelted the hull of the starbase, the red and yellow colours of their impact explosions reflecting off the starfighters hulls.

It had turned into a full on assault now with every player in the game. A full on flurry of orange, silver and purple energy weapons fire. Yet still, no matter how many strikes the Starfleet ships landed upon the hull of the Starbase it seened to absorb the energy. The instant a phaser or torpedo ploughed into the strange unknown alloy, it seemed to ripple like when a stone is dropped into a tranquil pond. It would ripple for a few seconds before returning to normal as if nothing had so much as scratched its surface.

[USS Armitage Bridge];

"Captain. We're not even scratching the hull. We seem to only be able to damage their exposed systems such as their weapon batteries." The tactical officer reported, clear frustration in their voice. The Armitage shook as a purple energy beam struck their shields. "Shields at eighty three per cent..."

Captain Kushieda leaned forward in her chair. "Science. What is the composition of the bases hull?"

"Unknown Captain. Sensors can't identify the alloy, if it even is alloy. In fact, we can't even identify the elements in the hull. I can only presume they are elements from another galaxy that don't exist in the Milky Way..."

Kushieda sat back and tapped a button on the arm of her chair. "Armitage to Tokyo. We're not making a scratch over here, never mind a dent. Are you experiencing the same issue?"

[USS Tokyo Bridge]

Connor sighed. "We are experiencing the same issue."

"Affirmative... switch to Tricobalt arsenal." Thomas replied, he knew that they weren't standard. But they were far more effective. Being used sparingly and in only rare instances... this he deemed was one situation where it was needed. "Hopefully our away team on the station is ready to assist us on the inside."

Connor looked at him, Tricobalt was usually kept on larger ships, like the Armitage, however there wasn't really any situation for them to be used. He didn't argue. "Switching over to Tricobalt now Commander."

The Tricobalt torpedoes were insanely powerful, and the Tokyo only had five in its arsenal. As the Tokyo banked, the five torpedoes blasted out of forward torpedo tubes. Their bright blue streaks painted across the darkness of the void, before impacting the station.

A small surface explosion from the impact erupted from where the torpedoes had impacted the starbase's hull. Once it had dissipated there was no damage, only the same ripple effect along the hull as it seemed to simply absorb the damage.

Thomas stood, a tri-cobalt device, five of them, which normally be over kill for such things. No effect. "Anyone please tell me, my eyes are deceiving me."

The officer manning Operations looked over at Thomas. "No damage to the target... Its like they were simply absorbed..."

Feeling almost defeated, but refusing to let it show. "If only we had a few tribbles to send over." Thomas replied sarcastically. "At this rate, we are going to run out of torpedoes before we do anything. Any word on the away team?"

Connor was about to answer when the bridge shook violently, the lights flickered, sparks flying from a console next to him, sending the ensign stationed at it flying into the railing. The force was so great, his neck can be visible seen snapped in two, just the skin was keeping it attacked.

Checking his console, "Forward shields down to 75%. Our shields aren't being effective."

"Keep modulating the shields, maybe it'll work for them as it does the Borg." Thomas replied as another jolt hit the ship.

"Shields down to 70 percent" Connor replied.

"Lt, evasive manoeuvrers. Someone get me anyone from the away team. The stations gotta go from the inside." Thomas ordered, harshly. It wasn't directed at them, but the situation, wasn't working for their favour at the moment.
