The Iconians have managed to jump their Dyson Sphere into what was once the Iconia System. Inside the Dyson Sphere are countless numbers of Iconian/Herald Ships and troops waiting to invade the Milky Way Galaxy. Based on the Intel from their previous incursion of the Dyson Sphere the Tokyo crew have managed to determine that the Iconians are attempting to locate the ancient beings known as “The Preservers”.

Starfleet send both the USS Kanna and the USS Tokyo to the planet Amerind where the only known 'Preserver' obelisk was known to be. The USS Kanna's mission is to learn why the Iconians want to locate the Preservers and why they are so focused on doing so. There is also a possibility that the Preservers may known potential weaknesses about the Iconians which may give the Alliance a Tactical Advantage. The USS Tokyo is sent as an escort in case of Iconian inteference or attack, which Starfleet predicts may happen.

The crews of the Tokyo and the Kanna are therefore tasked with 'unlocking' the secrets of the Obelisk and the Preservers. Its a race against time before the Iconians learn of the existance of the obelisk and send a fleet to destroy it.
