Mission: Flight Of The Valkyries
Location: USS Armitage
Timeline: March 15th, 2397 - 08:00

Captain Kushieda stood in the transporter room of the USS Armitage. A few seconds later the transporter purred into life and several figure began to emerge on the pad. After a few seconds, she looked up at the officers from the Tokyo.

"Welcome aboard the Armitage." She greeted them. "I take it you're all prepared?"

Hunt nodded to the Captain as he stepped off the transporter pad. "Yes, ma'am."

"Ready as we will ever be Captain." As he walked up to the Captain. "Thomas Johnson, I will be leading the team over to the freighter. Hopefully bringing everyone back safely."

"All relevant data pertaining to the Iconian freighter has been compiled and forwarded to the appropriate parties," Lieutenant Inoue reported, carefully inspecting her staff one last time before they deployed.

"I brought a few things I've been working on, that may help us in our mission." Teneca said indicating the satchel on her shoulder.

Nezuko nodded to their host. Her supplies were largely confined to the software on her PADD, including an increasingly refined homemade application for interfacing with Iconian and Herald computers.

Minori tapped her comm badge. "Kushieda to helm. Engage." She said simply. The ship turned in space and then jumped to warp, changing how it felt to those sensitive to vibrations. "We'll be there in about three hours. In the mean time, let me show you to the shuttlebay. The Armitage is identicle to the Tokyo, so you should be familiar with how everything here works."

She led the team out of the transporter room and out into the corridor. "We've prepared one of our type eleven shuttles for you to use. However, we've made a few..." she smirked. "Modifications to make it easier for you."

"Modifications such as...?" Lieutenant Inoue inquired.

Minori chuckled as she led them down the corridor. "Lets just say, the Herald's shouldn't be able to see you coming..."

Teneca smiled.

Devon looked over to Minori. "Are you talking about a shuttle with cloaking device?"

"Was it that obvious?" Minori smirked as she led them down towards the shuttlebay. "We picked one up a few weeks ago after we responded to a distress call from a Romulan Warbird. When we got there it was destroyed, but we did manage to salvage its cloaking device. Of course, Starfleet doesn't know about it, so this is 'off the books', understood?"

"Am I correct in assuming that the cloaking device will be taken out and destroyed once we've determined it to have outlived it's usefulness?" Lieutenant Inoue speculated.

"Once you're aboard the Herald ship. You're to self-destruct the shuttle." Minori said simply. "That way, they'll never know and the Heralds think you've been destroyed. Two birds with one stone."

Commander Hunt nodded in agreement with the plan. Brute force alone was not going to work in the Federation's favor. Stealth and outsmarting these bastards was key to eventually defeating the enemy.

Thomas checked his weapon, again, it must have been the tenth time. "You assume that they cannot detect cloaked ships Captain. Their tech as we all know is a millennium ahead of ours. Not being a debbie downer, but we have to have a contingency plan if they can actually see us coming."

{Can possibly improve cloak}, Nezuko signed. Then she realized she wasn't just in Thomas's company quickly tapped out her message to be read alout. "Can maybe improve cloak. Delicate balance. Need to examine during transit. But can improve odds. Maybe. Alternatives welcome."

Smiling, he noticed Nezukos slip. {Very good Lt} He replied as they arrived in the shuttle bay. {If it is from a destroyed warbird, we better make sure there is no damage to it at all. Do we know how it was destroyed, hell it could have been cloaked when it was drestroyed."

A few moments later they arrived at the shuttlebay. One of the type eleven shuttles sat waiting them. Several engineers were working on it. "My engineers have applied ablative armour to the outside for you as well." Minori explained. "Of course, its not a guarantee that it'll give you full protection, but it will help in some way." she explained. "We've also ripped out the rear compartment for you. Instead of being simple storage it now has places to sleep, a replicator and medical supplies. It'll be cramped, but its only for a couple of days."

"Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to for something we're just going to wind up destroying anyways," Lieutenant Inoue mused.

"You know Lieutenant, we could have just left you with seats to sleep in and emergency rations. But we thought that we'd be nice..." Minori said in response. "Regardless, I would suggest you all get familiar with the shuttle."

Lieutenant Inoue shrugged. "I've camped out in worse..."

"In war, this is a luxury many do not have." Thomas replied as he looked the shuttle over. "Its perfect, thank you for the consideration." Looking over at Nezuko. {Lt, are you good for your apparatus for that amount of time.} The concern was evident.

"We've considered lieutenant Nezuko as well. Captain Aisaka sent me all your personnel files. So my engineers have made it so that one of the bunks can be sealed off and the atmosphere in that bunk changed to anything you like." Minori explained. "Bunk C in the aft compartment. It should allow you to sleep without the need of your re-breather. Plus, it allows you to charge it as well. Theres a charging point in all bunks."

"Well I definitely appreciate it," Hunt responded. "When do we head out?"

"Three hours, I believe it was?" Lieutenant Inoue replied, glancing over at Minori.

Minori nodded. "We'll be arriving in the system in about three hours. We'll be doing a sensor sweep of the system to check for enemies. Then you'll launch tomorrow morning at 07:00 hours." Minori explained. "I believe that should give you enough time to familiarise yourself with the shuttle, plus that cloaking device." She added with a smile. "Of course, we have prepared temporary quarters for you. You'll find them on deck six."

Looking to the rest of his team, "We won't be sleeping for a while people lets grab some shut eye during those hrs. Thats an order." Thomas replied as he grabbed his stuff heading to the door.
