Timeline: March 12, 2397
"Come on Lyn! Lets just go ask her!" Yoshika protested as she pulled on her girlfriends arm, trying to get her towards the door of their quarters. "Its just one question! I'm sure Captain Aisaka will be happy to do it!"
"B-but, I mean, she's a very busy woman and all that, not to mention she's going to be having a kid any day now," Lynette protested. "I don't necessarily think it's fair to be burdening her with a personal request like-!"
"Trust me! It'll be fine!" Yoshika said as she began to tug on her arm more. "Please. Come on. You promised!" she added giving her puppy dog eyes.
"W-well, yes, but couldn't we just get another officiant-?"
Yoshika narrowed her eyes. "You know she'll want to do it! Its what Captains like to do!" she explained. She then pulled Lyn closer, levelling her mouth with her ear. "Come on." she whispered in a sultry way. "If you do this tonight, I'll..."
Lynette blushed. "Well, um... I mean, you don't necessarily have to bribe me with sex to get me to agree to it... I just, um... I don't want to inconvenience her when she's fighting a war and trying to raise her own family, you know? I mean... if SHE'S up to it, then I suppose it's fine, but I don't want lumping her with any additional responsibilities when she already seems to have a full-!"
"Hmph, fine. None for you tonight then." Yoshika said as she spun around pouting and crossing her arms.
"Wait, no, that's not what I meant-!"
Lynette realized far too late that she might've just fallen into Yoshika's trap.
Yoshika slowly looked back a huge smirk on her face. "So, are we going then?"
Lynette burried her face in her hands. "W-w-well, if Captain Aisaka has time to hear out our request, I suppose we could take it to her, b-but if we were talking about going to have-!"
No, stop, Bad Lynette! Bad, bad, bad!
Yoshika grabbed her by the hand and pulled her out of the door. "Lets go!"
"EEP-!"
[A Few Minutes Later]
The Turbolift stopped on the bridge and Yoshika walked out. It was her first time on the bridge, she had never actually had the chance to come up here. She leant in towards Lynette. "It's smaller than I thought..." she whispered.
"You mean you haven't been up here before?" Lynette remarked with a look of surprise.
"No, have you?"
"Well... maybe there was that one time back when we were stranded on that desert planet..." Lynette pondered aloud.
"Well, there's the ready room." Yoshika said as she pointed towards the ready room doors. She tugged again on Lynette's sleeve and then started her way down towards the ready room doors.
"Y-Yoshika-!" Lynette exclaimed as her fiance's enthusiasm nearly caused her to trip over her own feet. "Surely, there's no need to rush-!"
That didn't stop her from rushing across the bridge and pressing her finger against the chime. After only a few seconds, Taiga's voice called out. "Enter."
The doors swished open and Yoshika pulled Lynette into the ready room. She stood just in front of the desk. "Captain, we have something to ask you." Yoshika said.
Taiga raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Ok..."
Lynette glanced over at Yoshika, who simply glanced back at her in turn. "...You seriously weren't expecting ME to ask her, were you?"
"Ask me what exactly Ensign?" Taiga asked her eyes narrowing slightly.
"Um... W-well..." Lynette stammered nervously. "Yo- um, Petty Officer Miyafuji and I had gotten to talking about certain things, and we were wondering, if you so hypothetically happened to be available in the next few weeks, maybe you could..."
Her face flushed with embarrassment, Lynette quickly spun around and buried her face in her hands. "You know what, on second thought, I don't think I can do this..."
"Captain, she's a little shy to ask..." Yoshika said quickly. "But, we'd like you to marry us."
A pause fell upon the room. Then finally a smile began to emerge on Taiga's face. "Well, I wasn't expecting a question like that today. However, I am the Captain. So yes, I'd be happy to do that for you both." She paused for a brief second. "Do you have a date in mind?"
"Tomorrow!" Yoshika piped up. "Before the mission! In case... anything bad... happens..."
"TOMORROW?!?!" Lynette squawked, her fiance's declaration coming as news to her.
"Well... yeah?" Yoshika replied.
"Oh my God... this is all going so fast..." Lynette muttered as her legs buckled and she practically crumpled up on the floor. "I'm getting married in less than 24 hours, and I haven't even told my parents that I'm gay... What do I do, what do I-!?"
Yoshika simply placed her hand in Lynettes. "Its going to be all ok." She assured her with a warm smile. She then turned to the Captain. "Is that ok with you Captain?"
Taiga nodded. "I think its a wonderful idea. Plus, its a celebration of love. And it will give a nice boost to crew morale. Send me the details wheb you two have..." she looked at Lynette for a moment. "Worked it all out..."
"...And what am I even going to wear?!" Lynette continue to despair. "I've barely had time to register the fact I'm getting married, let alone pick a dress! And then there's the venue, and the bridesmaids, and, and, and-!"
Taiga cleared her throat to get Lynettes attention. "If I may make a suggestion. Since its obvious you want this due to the danger of the mission and the ongoing war. I would suggest a small formal Starfleet ceremony. So your dress uniforms will do. Then later, should you both wish to have a bigger ceremony when we're at a more peaceful state, you can redo it again with friends, family and have it be your 'big day', so to speak?"
Lynette glanced up, then over at Yoshika, then back at Taiga, and back over to Yoshika. "Um... we can do that?"
"Yeah, its fairly common for those who serve on Starships. Especially when they are in deep space." Taiga replied. "You two should talk it over, then get back to me ok?"
"Y-yes, Ma'am," Lynette nodded. "And... thank you, Ma'am."
"Yes, thankyou Captain." Yoshika added. Since that was their cue to leave, Yoshika led the way out, her head held high and the biggest smile plastered across her face.
