Mission:
Andromeda
Location: USS Tokyo
Previously on Star Trek Tokyo:
Tatsuo had taken charge down below as the ship started to go haywire on them. First by helping to get locked quarters and other doors open. For which he had to use quite a few command level overrides to accomplish. While the Tokyo was a lot more digitized than the Redemption, several basic systems were the same, and he was able to use the same tricks he used whenever something had malfunctioned on the old Nova class starship to get around it. Tatsuo knew he would likely get into trouble for breaking the chain of command in this way, but right now, he didn't care. People needed helping now, and there wasn't time for a command level officer to come along.
This became especially apparent when the shadowy constructs began appearing, making even his command level workarounds useless. With the situation becoming more and more dire by the minute, Tatsuo's survival instincts kicked in: Attack the enemy with intent to kill, especially as the enemy didn't seem to value their lives.
And now the continuation...
[Bridge]
More Constructs appeared on the bridge, 'poofing' in with their black smoke. Suddenly the sounds of weapons discharging fell silent and there was a much larger 'poof'. There directly in the center floated a tall but slim alien. Made up pg pearly white armour and pink energy. With its head nearly touching the ceiling it looked around.
The weapons that had been 'acquired' by the Starfleet crew suddenly turned to smoke. Then a loud voice echoed throughout the entire ship. "YOU DARE TO RESIST A GOD?!" The voice boomed.
Taiga who had been covered by the helm peeked out along with Ensign Ishigami. "Is that..." she'd seen these aliens before. "An Iconian?" She muttered to herself quietly.
"Insolent fools!" The Iconian spoke. Then the Iconian started to scan the bridge. Upon spotting Taiga it raised a single arm. Taiga began to float up into the air as if being lifted by invisible wires. As she was lifted clean up into the air she tried to grab onto the helm console, but her grip wasn't strong enough.
Without warning Taiga disappeared in a haze of black smoke in front of the entire bridge crew. Her uniform and underclothes she gad been wearing fell slowly to the ground landing next to Ishigami. The Iconian didn't seem at all phased to as what it had just done.
"You are a threat. My suspicions about your kind were correct." The Iconian voice said. "You shall fear my name before I extinguish your pathetic existence. I am T'Ket, the warrior and protector of my Iconian sisters. I sentence you all to what you deserve for your ways."
T'Ket turned to the nearest construct. "Extinguish them all. Then bring this antiquated vessel to me."
The constructs all began to raise their spears again. This was far from over as beams of light erupted from their tips.
“Dammit!!” Talia hid as best as she could, she didnt see her life ending this way when she came on duty earlier that morning. She popped her head up briefly. “If you’re going to kill me, the least you can do is tell me what you have done with my husband!?
There came no reply as a beam of purple energy narrowly missed her head striking the wall console behind causing it to explode showering anyone nearby in sparks.
"Mom, I'm sorry..." Liz repented quietly. "It looks like Timmy and I will be coming to see you soon..."
Mikko swore as she saw Taiga's clothing drop to the ground. She remained in her spot gripping ger phaser tightly. Maybe today was the day she faced death.
[Flight Deck]
The constructs continued their assault on the flight deck. Many of the pilots who had been standing by had either been vaporised by weapons fire, leaving nothing but air where they had been running for cover, or had managed to take shelter in the Valkyries stood on the deck. Luckily the armour plating on the Valkyrie's seemed to protect them against the construct's weapons fire, at least for a while.
Fubuki was crouched down in a cockpit, the Valkyrie she was in didn't seem to have any power. Then she had an idea. She peeked up out of the viewport, the constructs were directly in front of her Valkyrie and were continuing their assault on the Starfleet Personnel. She watched as one of the deck hands was vaporised in an ear splitting scream.
"This has to end..." she muttered to herself. "Maybe I can start her manually..." she said as she pulled the protective panel that covered the power relays. She smiled upon seeing that the Valkyrie's auxiliary power was still online, it might be enough to kick the fighter's warp core back into action. "Here goes nothing..." she said as she pulled down on the transfer handle. The cockpit's screens all flickered into life, there wasn't much to work with, the dampening effect on the Tokyo seemed to be playing havoc with her automatic systems, but one line of text caught her attention.
Engines and Weapons on Manual. System Ready.
"Fantastic!" she exclaimed as she grabbed the earpiece and pushed it into her ear. She then strapped herself into the seat. Luckily the Valkyries had enough auxiliary battery power to get back to their home base, it wasn't much but it was enough.
"RUN!" Petty Officer Howard shouted shortly before he was vaporised as he fled.
Suddenly the Constructs were alerted to something else.
The thrusters of Fubuki's Valkyrie roared into life and lifted the craft off the deck. In the cockpit Fubuki gripped the sticks as she began to turn her forward cannons towards the constructs. She was flying on manual, relying on her eyes and senses. With a look of determination she swung the aft end of the Valkyrie around, nearly smacking into the bulkhead but stopping shy of only a few inches. With a tap on her manual controls she activated the exterior speakers.
"EVERYONE! GET BEHIND ME NOW" she shouted.
The shields of the Valkyrie came online. According to her instruments they weren't exactly powerful or anywhere near full strength. It seemed as if the dampening effect didn't have such an affect on them like it did other systems. She was now floating above the deck, using her Valkyrie as a shield to protect everyone.
"Pilots, get into your ships. Switch to manual power and controls. Thats an order!" Fubuki called over the speakers.
"Way ahead of you, snowflake!" Came the call of Pickpocket over the radio. Mika had already been hard at work attempting to hotwire her fighter when Fubuki succeeded, and moments later, another Valkyrie sitting on the deck came to life.
One by one, the pilots began to follow Fubuki's example and reroute their Valkyries to auxiliary power. The air was filled with the roaring of thrusters and the hesitant warble of shielding grids coming back online.
Fubuki's eyes narrowed as purple beams of energy struck her craft. "Ok you bastards..." she said. "My turn!"
