Mission: Flight Of The Valkyries
Location: Sickbay/Pilots Lounge
Timeline: March 11th, 2397

Emotions on the Tokyo were high. Many of the crew were excited and determined to finally be striking back at the Iconians. The idea of attacking a Starbase was exhilarating, yet it was dangerous. Many of them knew that not everyone may survive the assault, especially those in the most vulnerable positions. Such as the Starfighters.

Yoshika had been fumbling aorund sickbay all day, her mind had been elsewhere. Her mind had wandered even during the simplest tasks. She couldn't help but get the idea of losing Lynette out of her head. It got the point where she could even barely function without guidance and had been told to go take some time to herself by Doctor Valentine.

She found herself making her way towards the pilots lounge. She burst through the doors in search of Lynette.

She didn't have to look far.

"Yoshika!" The younger pilot called out as she got up and made her way over to her girlfriend, a look of concern evident in her expression. "What's the matter? Don't you still have a few more hours before your shift-?"

Yoshika rushed over to Lynette and instantly pulled her into a tight embrace. She nestled her face into her shoulder and let out soft delicate whimpers as she gripped her tightly.

"Oh my God," Lynette gasped, suddenly realizing this was a situation requiring her full attention. She glanced back over at her squadmates, of whom had been going over the latest flight plans for their upcoming assignment when Yoshika had come bursting in. "N-Nozomi, is it alright if I...?"

"You go on ahead, Lyn," Nozomi assured her. "We can always catch up on this at some other time."

Nodding, Lynette turned and gently wrapped her arms around the older girl.

"It's gonna be okay, Yoshika," she whispered as she began to lead her from the lounge. "Let's get you back to our quarters, and we can talk, alright?"

Yoshika shook her head and stopped Lynette, pushing her away. "No. I need to say this here. Look..." she paused. "I've been thinking about this mission, its stupidly dangerous right? And you're going to be out there with everyohe else. I can't stop thinking about what if something happens to you... What is you get hurt, what if you don't come back?"

There was a long pause before Lynette finally broke the silence.

"Well, um, see... I've kind of been worrying about this myself," she admitted, twiddling her thumbs nervously. "Frankly, I've been... terribly frightened about the whole idea of me not coming back, and leaving you here all alone, and... and I almost feel like our roles should be reversed, and you're the one who should be telling me that it's going to be alright, and, and-!"

It was becoming increasingly clear that Lynette was just as much at a loss for what to do as Yoshika was wound up; wasn't it usually supposed to be the other way around in times like these?

"I just worry that we're not going to enjoy anything together because of this damn war." Yoshika replied tears still in her eyes. "I love you Lynette. I really love you, I've never felt as secure or safe with anyone else before you."

Lynette's lip visibly trembled at that.

"S-so do I," she stammered, her face flushed with embarrassment at having to have this conversation in front of her squadmates, to be the brave person in a relationship where she'd been counting on Yoshika to be brave for her.

Yoshika smiled as she wiped away the tears with her sleeve. "I needed to know. Because I want to make sure that I have no regrets." Yoshika said to her. "Lynette, I know that we haven't been together that long. But I can't possibly imagine a day without you now. I can't bare to think of life without you in it. I don't want any regrets, I want us to be happy together forever."

She paused and then her eyes met Lynettes. "Lynette. If something does happen to either of us, then I want us to be happy before that happens! So I have no regreats when I ask you this."

"Lynette Bishop! Will you marry me?"

The whole room fell silent. The tables were turned, and now it was Lynette's time to cry. Tears streamed down her face and she began tremble with in-suppressible joy, so much so that the other pilots were worried that she was going to shake herself to pieces.

"YES!" she exclaimed as she practically threw herself into Yoshika's arms. "YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES!!!"

The other pilots sat there in stunned silence as they attempted to process what they had just witnessed, having in no way anticipated that this was going to go straight to a marriage proposal seemingly after the blue. Once she'd finally regained her composure, however, Nozomi calmly stood up, adjusted her collar, and began to applaud. Hanna took after her lead, and before they knew it, the entirety of Triumph Squadron had joined in to offer the young couple their congrats.

Yoshika held Lynette close, she didn't seem to hear the applause or the cheers from the other pilots. All that mattered now was that she had Lynette, and she had her answer. She gripped her tightly and whispered into her ear. "I never want you to go away. Always come back to me... Please..."

Lynette sniffled. "Dammit, Yoshika, that's what I'm supposed to say..."

Yoshika's grip got a little tighter. "Denied... Thats my line... Always my line."
